Relaxation, recovery and wellbeing is a short course that aims to look at various activities we can do to help us not just relax but make changes that impact our wellbeing. We look at breathing exercises, meditation, how we can build our own relaxing routines that suit our lifestyles and budgets. We all want to live a healthier life; and this course aims to guide you towards that goal.

Course aim

This course sets out to provide information on how we can relax and reduce stress through a variety of activities. Most activities can be repeated at home by learners.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • The meaning of relaxation and what it means to us
  • What is meditation and how it can help individuals
  • The postive impact of laughter on our wellbeing
  • Kindfulness-how we can be our own best friend and feel better
  • Mindfulness and how it impacts our health.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
