Course aim

The many things you need to know about working in retail, what you can expects, skills needed, customers service expectations and being fit for the role

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • have an insight into the world of retail,customers service skills and responsibilities
  • map an individual path pointing you in the right direction to find a job in retail
  • do background check on future employers, company style and being the face of their products
  • Be respectful of personal information given and shared within the class
  • confidentiality needed on all personal issues and information discussed with the class

How will I be taught?

  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
