Learn the gentle but effective art of Aromatherapy and Tai Chi whilst relaxing in a seated position, perform mobility exercises and use relaxation techniques to enhance health and well-being.

Course aim

An introduction to Aromatherapy - using essential oils to enhance well-being. Gentle mobility and Tai Chi exercises and relaxation techniques are explored to bring about a total feeling of calmness and well-being and encourage stress relief.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand about the basic principles of Aromatherapy
  • Perform a hand and lower arm massage on yourself - or partner.
  • Use essential oils to enhance health and well-being.
  • Learn how to make aromatherapy products for use at home.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided
  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • You may want to bring your own small soft towel with you. Wear comfortable clothing.

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
