The christmas wreath work shop will enable you to create your own xmas wreath using a selection of fresh greenery and fern cones bit you can also bring in your own decorative materials for a more personal design and style Once you have gained the skills and technical knowledge you will be able to make them again and again for different events through out the year for special occasions and gifts

Course aim

get into the festive spirit and learn the skills needed to create your own xmas wreath using fresh or decorative materials Once you know the techniques needed you will be able to continue in your own time

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Gain the knowledge of suitable materials needed for this project
  • Learn how to attach different materials and decorative objects to your christmas wreath adding individual detail and style
  • Learn from each other when designing and creating,respect and appreciate different styles and taste
  • Discover the advantages of meeting with likeminded people and the positive effect for your well being when creating something that can make you and others happy
  • Follow all health and safety regulations needed when working with sharp tools and materials in a classroom enviroment materials

How will I be taught?

  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be able to keep a digital portfolio of your work on WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas.
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
