A fun workshop with a festive theme. It is aimed at the beginner and will encourage you to use your own creativity to produce 2 floral / foliage arrangements.

Course aim

A fun workshop with a festive theme aimed for the beginner to encourage your own creativity using fresh foliage and flowers.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Create a festive foliage only display
  • Create a festive rose and bauble tree
  • identify 5 suitable foliage for arrangements - ivy holly fern etc and how to be creative using foliage
  • Observe a demonstration of an alternative Christmas tree.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will have arrangements created during the workshop as evidence of your achievement

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • A supply of fresh roses will be provided but you may wish to bring a bunch of roses to make a more substantial arrangement.

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
