A walking tour of Spitalfields exploring themes of immigration and labour history in London through the lens of textile history. In exploring the streets between Brick Lane and Bishopsgate we will look at how both fashionable and ordinary Londoners clothed themselves, from silk gowns to the second hand clothing trade to the cottons and muslins of the East India Company.
