Gardening: Practical Gardening

Ref: C2421108

Over the 5 weeks we will explore the different areas in the garden and how we can enjoy our outdoor spaces now, as well as preparing for the coming seasons. We will also be looking at growing in containers, such as hanging baskets and window boxes over the autumn and winter as an important way to bring feelgood scent and colour to our homes on gloomy days. This will include learning 'lasagne' planting of bulbs in containers for prolonged spring colour, as well as learning to plant bulbs for a riot of spring colour in our garden borders. Exploring how we can all help our insects and birds over winter, and create wildlife friendly spaces in the garden, and looking at how to maintain our garden plants in the autumn and winter, so we get the best from them in the spring and summer seasons to follow.
