This course offers the opportunity to acquire or improve your knowledge of various traditional and contemporary mosaic making techniques. We will cover both direct and indirect methods and the qualities and applications of different materials will be explored. You can choose to work from a theme and be inspired by the resources provided. Or do bring your own ideas, line drawing sketches, or scour the internet/magasines for images you like. No previous art experience is required just a willingness to play with shapes and colours and get to grips with the cutting and laying tile techniques. The venue has a lively social atmosphere for all ages and abilities although there is also space if you want to develop your own ideas in peace and quiet. Hands on advice is offered by a qualified and experienced Mosaicist who has worked on public commissions and community projects.
