Gentle Exercise (BBO/WiLL Participants only)

The course will teach you various ways of keeping healthy both physically and mentally. You will be taught how to do exercise to music sitting down on a chair, learning lots of ways to keep positive and happy, Learn about what laughter yoga is and how it can improve your health in lots of different ways and look at various alternative therapy and how they work especially Emotional Freedom Technique. All ways to keep yourself mentally and physically well! Try the 4 week course out and learn lots of fun ways to look after yourself. You will be taught through videos, powerpoint and hands on experience and group work.

Course aim

This course will teach you how to do seated exercise to music, laughter yoga and its benefits, ways to keep positive and happy and EAmtional Freedom Technique.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Learn how to do exercise sitting down to music
  • Learn about benefits and history of yoga laughter and how it improves our health
  • Lear about different ways to meditate
  • Learn about alternative therapies and EFT
  • Learn about different ways to keep positive and happy

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
  • Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation
