This course has been designed for anyone who wants to learn how to be more confident and wants to improve communication skills. .it is also suitable for people who wants to find out how to help other people develop self confidence. Through this course you will be able to have better understandings of basics of communication. It will teach you the importance of voice, body language, and silence. Listening and speaking skill will also be covered.At the end of this course, you will be able express yourself effectively and most importantly ,learn how to speak considerably and politely with confidence.

Course aim

This course is designed for those who want to be more confident and improve their communication skills. It is an introduction of basic elements of communication and how confidence and communication both can help them to achieve their ultimate goals.

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe different types of communication and how they are used
  • List six skills needed to be an effective communicator
  • Identify four examples of how culture influences body language and verbal communication
  • Demonstrate four ways to overcome fears in communication and two methods to develop confidence in speaking.
  • Explain one method for self-valuation and put it into action.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
