Pierrot Cloth Dolls

You will explore painted and hand sewing techniques to produce your very own cloth doll. This doll will be themed around the iconic look of the Pierrot clown. This will be a relaxing and informal session where the aim is to create a Pierrot themed doll following a simple pattern and adorn it with clothes. Embroidery techniques and/or paint can be used to add finer details to the the face or tights and shoes.

Course aim

A relaxing and enjoyable workshop taking you through the design and creation of a Pierrot themed cloth doll.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • Simple hand sewing skills would be useful during this workshop.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Do at least one embroidery stitch.
  • Hand sew a cloth doll.
  • Read & follow a simple doll making pattern.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
