A course to help you to rethink your lifestyle, identify areas to change & make a personal plan for a calmer life.
Course aim
To help students to assess their lives & make positive changes to lead a healthier lifestyle (physical & mental)
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify areas of stress to them & what they can & can’t change
- Identify 4 changes they could make in their home environment & make a plan to do this
- Identify your positive relationships & how to build on them.
- Make a plan to manage negative relationships
- Identify 3 ways to lead a healthier life
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- Activities may include tutor presentation, small group work, working in pairs and class discussions.
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
What else do I need to know?
- Nothing else is needed
- A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
- Tutors will suggest sources of additional information where relevant, you may want to bring a notepad and pen for taking notes
Pre-course work, reading and information sources
- No pre reading or pre course work is required
What can I do next?
- Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation
- Progress to another WEA course or a longer course in a related subject. There may also be possibilities for accredited employability based courses.
