The course is an introduction to lo tec/table-top printmaking. We shall explore: monotype, mono print, block printmaking, stencil rolling and direct printmaking.

Course aim

The course aims to introduce students the ways in which artists use lo tec/table-top printmaking.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • 1. Make a monotype print
  • 2. Make a monoprint
  • 3. Produced block prints with confidence
  • 4. Augment block prints with stencil rolling
  • 5. Augment block prints with stencil rolling

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • you will expected to take your work home with you at the end of the session (so a portfolio would be useful)

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • an apron would be useful

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
