This is a group based weekly class with a relaxed atmosphere. You will have a variety of learning activities that will build your skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Also you will explore Italian culture and customs and you will meet new people.
Course aim
A course for complete beginners which assumes no previous knowledge. You will learn the key phrases to get by when greeting people, shopping and eating out.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This is a live lecture delivered by a subject specialist in an online webinar video learning platform. You will need to be able to access the internet on a device with speakers or earphones. By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Converse, read and write about a variety of practical everyday topics.
- Explain culture and traditions in Italy.
- Demonstrate a sound grasp of basic vocabulary to enable further studies.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
What else do I need to know?
- It would be helpful to bring lined paper and a pen. If you have an A4 sized ring binder this will be useful too.
