The session is divided into two main parts. The first will demonstrate how to make and apply homemade face masks from everyday and commonly available ingredients. There will be tips on to clean and exfoliate skin on a regular basis for a long term benefit. The second part will educate students on how to choose and then apply the right makeup for their skin tone and face shape.

Course aim

This course is designed to enable students to pamper themselves, using homemade masks, look after their skin and apply simple makeup.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • cleanse their face
  • use exfoliator
  • make their own masks
  • apply light make up
  • demonstrate understanding of the benefits of regular skill care steps

How will I be taught?

  • You will be expected to carry out a range of activities in your own time

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
