Life in the UK - Test Practice

The course is intended to support learners who want to develop their language, knowledge and understanding of citizenship. It is also suitable for anyone who hasn’t previously studied for the 'Life in the UK test'. They will learn vocabulary associated with citizenship, and they will learn the duties and responsibilities that go along with being a citizen of the United Kingdom. Through learning activities which are practical, enjoyable and interactive, students will improve their language for citizenship and IT skills. Role play and games will be included to help students.

Course aim

The course aims to teach students the basic knowledge required for the 'Life in the UK test'.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe the rights and duties of UK citizens.
  • Understand the values and principles of the UK.
  • Practice multiple choice questions for 'Life in the UK test'
  • Begin to learn about the history of the UK.
  • Confidently answer questions about 'Life in the UK test'.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
