Spanish for Improvers

To improve confidence, and practice speaking the language by knowing the correct Spanish vocabulary and most important knowing the correct grammar to use. To improve more advanced conversations and to be able to understand when people are talking in Spanish. Talking about different type of topics like: Living a Healthy Life and How to Improve the Environment in your town or city, by using a variety of paragraphs and phrases to express opinions and justifying opinions. Talking about what would you like to have in your town or city and what would you like to change by using the conditional tense. Developing a checklist to improve a accuracy. To improve writing, reading and listening of the language. To be able to ask and answer questions by using the interrogative pronouns.

Course aim

Introduction to more advanced grammar, vocabulary, conversation and understanding of the language. Talking more fluently, using prepositions and pronouns, using relative clauses, using a variety of phrases, paragraphs, opinions, etc.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate increased confidence in speaking on a range of topics in Spanish with correct pronunciation and grammar.
  • Demonstrate how to use the correct grammar when speaking and writing Spanish.
  • Construct more advanced conversation and understand of the importance of a good grammar background in order to speak correctly.
  • Indentify more aspects of Spanish Culture.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided
  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • It is require to have done some improver courses before.
