Building upon the previous course Creative Music Making and Drama where students created music and drama based pieces, we will be developing the new material, recording, rehearsing and working towards a showcase event at The Smokehouse on May 27th. Students will also have the opportunity to create more material if inspired!

Course aim

Using performance arts to help wellbeing, communication skills and creativity, students will take part in developing music and performance pieces, recording a CD and organising a Showcase at The Smokehouse on 27th May

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Participate in regular session based meditation/mindfulness exercises
  • Contribute to music making and or recording tracks for a CD
  • Contribute to drama based games and exercises
  • Take part in rehearsals
  • Understand how to work towards putting on a performance

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
