On this course you will be able to learn to play group pieces on the keyboards or percussion. We shall also sing a selection of songs with the assistant tutor and tutor accompanying. Additionally, we will listen to and discuss a cinema and television composer's work.

Course aim

To practise and play arranged pieces on keyboards and percussion. To listen to and discuss compositions by a film composer. To sing a mixture of songs.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • To play one piece with the group, on keyboards or percussion.
  • Have an increased awareness of a film composers work.
  • Sing a selection of songs with the group.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
