Day School: Who Were the Romantics?

Ref: C2227103

In this course we will explore how the formality of the 18th century gave way to a relatively more informal and experimental age in society, involving a change in social manners, political attitudes, painting, garden design, novels and poems, and we will examine the impact of technological change on all these things. We will also consider how these shifts in attitudes and feelings are still influencing us today. We will of course look at Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats, but also look at lesser known and influential writers including female authors. The course will be entertaining and as interactive as people want it to be, providing plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share opinions.
