Wildlife and Habitats of East Anglia

The course looks at a varied ranges of wildlife, landscapes and nature reserves found throughout East Anglia. Area explored include RSPB Minsmere, The Brecks, The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads, The North Norfolk Coast and the Heathland and Woodlands of Suffolk and Norfolk. Colourful slides will be uses to illustrate the areas with a good range of birds, butterflies, plants and mammal also included.

Course aim

This course is aimed to introduce students to a wide range of wildlife and wildlife habitats found around East Anglia. This is done using a range of colourful slides of local landscapes, scenery, birds, butterflies and wild flowers.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • IDENTIFY 4 NATURE RESERVES FOUND IN EAST ANGLIA
  • IDENTIFY 5 SPECIES OF BIRD FOUND IN EAST ANGLIA
  • IDENTIFY 4 SPECIES OF BUTTERFLY FOUND IN EAST ANGLIA
  • IDENTIFY 4 SPECIES OF WILD FLOWER FOUND IN EAST ANGLIA
  • IDENTIFY 4 SPECIES OF MAMMAL FOUND IN EAST ANGLIA

How will I be taught?

  • TEACHING METHODS INCLUDE A RANGE OF COLOURFUL SLIDES OF FLORA AND FAUNA PLUS INTERACTION WITH STUDENTS AND USE OF MY OWN WORKSHEETS WITH QUESTIONS TO FILL IN DURING THE RUN OF THE COURSE FOR STUDENTS TO TAKE BACK AND TAKE ANY OTHER NOTES THEY WISH TO.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
