Day School: Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights

Ref: C2226925

Hieronymus Bosch painted his masterpiece, The Garden of Earthly Delights, over 500 years ago, but it remains one of the most shocking and intriguing images of all time. Does its triple vision of Paradise, Earth and Hell show us a universe redeemed into innocence and wonder, or does depravity lurk in its depths? We shall explore what the painting may have meant to those who commissioned it and first encountered it, as well as our own personal responses.
