The course will help you feel more confident with the IT and English skills used in everyday life. You will use real life situations to carry out activities. The activities will help you to feel more confident when you encounter English or IT in your everyday life.

Course aim

To improve English & IT skills To increase confidence when carrying out daily tasks which involve English and IT To prepare learners for accredited course in either English or IT

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
  • The course is for students working at entry level who lack skills/confidence in English or IT

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use English and IT more confidently
  • Have the confidence to progress onto an accredited/Get Ready for English or IT course.
  • Apply the skills learnt on the course when carrying out every day activities

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
