We will identifiy any digital skills gaps and recommend any action to help find employment. Increase confidence in using ICT through the job hunting process. Uploading and downloading documents, eg. CV’S and application forms, the correct set up of an email account and use of the correct grammar when writing an email. Increases confidence in using the internet to acquire information. Increases confidence and ability in their spoken and written English language skills. Can help with interview skills and the development of digital skills. Giving you an ncreased confidence to study further.

Course aim

People who want to improve their computer skills and knowledge in relation to finding work with the help of a tutor.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners
  • This course is for improvers
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for people with little spoken English

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Increased confidence in using the internet to acquire information
  • Increased confidence and ability in their spoken and written English language skills
  • Increases confidence in using ICT through the job hunting process
  • Correct set up of an email account and uploading and downloading documents, eg. CV’S and application forms
  • Identification of digital skills gaps and recommended action

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • A pen and note book
