This course is for improvers or refreshers to help train and develop individuals in the use of computers and the benefits that the digital world can bring. Delivered in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, this course is a great way to help navigate around a computer or tablet and use internet as well as improving English skills.

Course aim

The aim is to give learners the confidence by improving or refresh their computer skills as will as their English skills.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • create a word processing document
  • edit an existing document to add, correct or change the contents
  • save documents so they are accessible
  • use graphics to enhance documents
  • be aware of other facilities available in Microsoft Word to ease and speed up work

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Please bring pen drive to save your work

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2018
