Students will be able to access and use social media websites, make online bookings and buy goods & services online, all of which will help them to connect with others.

Course aim

This course will provide students with the confidence to perform daily tasks on the computer independently.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Buy at least one item online.
  • Advertise at least one item for sale on a website.
  • Log in and browse at least one social media website.
  • Make at least three online bookings.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • If students have their own laptop they are encouraged to bring it with them.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
