This course is run by the WEA, working in partnership with East Surrey College delivering Adult Learning across the East Surrey area.

Course aim

An introduction to managing your money - how much comes in, what it gets spent on and identify any changes that need to be or could be made to make it go further.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • calculate how much money comes in and goes out each month
  • make decisions on where it's necessary to spend money and where savings could be made, e.g. switching energy supplier or mobile phone contracts
  • use different techniques and/or tools to manage my money on an ongoing basis

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

  • Nothing else is needed
