Team Working Skills are so precious and necessary for every job in today’s ‘screen era’. This course can contribute to enhancing your Social Intelligence and provide you with Collaborative Problem Solving Skills. It is also an excellent opportunity for those who would like to acquire or formalize their Team Working Skills since the course is accredited by City & Guilds. All students work together using their skills to put on a Community Event (s) and create their own Portfolios about it (which are their accreditation and are assessed and verified internally and externally).

Course aim

To learn about and implement the teamworking skills learned during the course with the aim of putting on a local community event .

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • Students need a level 2 qualification in English to join this course

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • 1. Understand why effective teamwork is important
  • 2. Understand the roles people may take in a teamwork situation
  • 3. Understand the role of conflict
  • 4. Understand what needs to be done to achieve a goal
  • 5. Work with others toward achieving a shared objective

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
  • You will be expected to carry out a range of activities in your own time

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2018
