Day School: Art of the Russian Revolution 1917 – 1932

Ref: C3743144

This informal day school will explore the artistic landscape of one of the most momentous periods in modern cultural history. Our mini-survey will look at the bold abstractions and personal evolution of Malevich and the Suprematists, at the dynamic abstractions of Rodchenko and El Lissitzky, and of course at the revolutionary films of Eisenstein and Dziga Vertov. If the inspirations of the Revolutionary Period did not survive Stalin, the impact of its visual arts certainly did. Join us in finding out more about this brief but exhilarating period - everyone welcome.
