China 1300-1900

Ref: C3743065

In the light of China's reappearance as a great world power, we will look at the Chinese Empire at its height. We will follow the main events between the Mongol conquest in the 13th century, and the fall of the Chinese Empire in 1911. We will also see how she related to other countries, and their impact on her in the fields of culture, trade, religion and war, and how European encroachments in the 19th century contributed to her final collapse. Tracing these events will help us to understand better China's view of herself, and her attitude towards the outside world today.
