Day School: Philosophical Accounts of the Idea of God

Ref: C3742996

This interactive and thought-provoking philosophy study day explores and evaluates different philosophical accounts of the attributes of God and the origins of the idea of God. Key questions will include: what have different philosophers claimed about the nature of God and are their descriptions coherent? Is the idea of God innate, or is it a human construction? The views of both religious and non-religious philosophers will be explored, including influential philosophers such as Descartes. Strengths and weaknesses of the different accounts will be considered, enabling you to form reasoned judgements about them.
