Breaking the Boundaries: American Art of the 20th Century

Ref: C3742968

We will investigate the major American artists of the 20th century with a particular emphasis on those who contributed to the rapid development of modernism in art in this period. Art movements such as the Aschan school and regionalism will be explored and their influence on later modern experiments will be evaluated. The bulk of our time will be spent studying the great modernists of the Abstract Expressionist school, Pop Art and minimalism. Artists featured will include Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol, Roy Liechtenstein and the later post-modern works of Jeff Koons.
