The Florence of the Medici - A Golden Age

Ref: C3742826

* We concentrate on 14th & 15th century Florentine art from the origins of the Renaissance moving from civic culture to the influence of the Medici. * Along the way we will be wary of the extent of propaganda from both artists & patrons. * We will take the opportunity to consider in depth Florentine art in the National Gallery. * Emphasis will be place on the meaning & interpretration of beautiful, often enigmatic images in their historical context, before considering the 16th century impact of the Medici Dukes of Tuscany.
