The course will be focusing upon the causes of stress, together with identifying and considering how our body,mind,behaviour and emotions are affected .The session will then move onto stress management techniques together with adopting coping strategies for every day life.

Course aim

This is a introduction/taster session, which will unpick and consider what stress is. its causes and how to identify triggers, adopt coping strategies towards a healthy and positive life..

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • Students need a Level 1 qualification in English to join this course

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Recognise when I am Feeling Stressed
  • How stress can affect the individual
  • Learn stress busting techniques
  • Signs,symptoms and feelings
  • relaxation techniques

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided
