Converting England: Christians and Pagans in Anglo-Saxon Times

Ref: C3675483

Find out how Northumbria was converted from pagansim to Christianity by a sparrow! This day-school will trace the conversion of pagan Anglo-Saxon England to Christianity in the 6th, 7th and 8th centuries. We will look at the processes and progress of conversion and its impact in the written and archaeological records. We will explore the differences between 'Roman' and 'Celtic' Christian practices and the problems and solutions this brought about. And we'll discover what that sparrow had to do with it all...
