Painting and Drawing for All

Ref: C3675264

This term our theme will be 'The Industrial Landscape' allowing a wide range of interpretation from the millponds and heritage landscape of Rivelin to old and modern factory buildings. This will include tips and tools for choosing elements to make an interesting picture, sketching and drawing objectively, (including elements of perspective to help you portray an industrial environment,) and gaining confidence in being more expressive. We will use a range of techniques and materials to create sketches and finished pictures including acrylics, inktense, watercolours and watercolour pencils, and both oil and soft pastels. Throughout the course there will be practical demonstrations showing how to use the various media, as well as one-to-one discussion with the tutor on how your work is progressing. Students will be free to pursue their own projects. There may be informal sketching trips to places of interest (weather dependant)
