The taster course will be an introduction to understanding our basic psychology. It will introduce you to concepts that enable you to understand the way we think and the different influences that make us unique as individuals. It's an opportunity for you to determine if you would like to enrol on the 7 week course.

Course aim

This taster course will enable you to explore basic psychological concepts, how they shape the way you think and live your life.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand how psychologists do their research.
  • Learn to think about our moral nature.
  • Understand the impact of the physical envi4ronment on how we think, feel and behave in relation to other people.
  • Recognise the influence on us of the culture we were born into and live in.
  • Explore what makes individuals different.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
