Parents and children with have fun using a variety of resources related to space, including books, dressing up and making fun activities using craft materials. Children may want to bring a favourite teddy bear to share their interest in literacy and science.

Course aim

Parents will enjoy interacting positively with their children in this activity, Parents will develop confidence in their own skills. whilst supporting their children's development in literacy, creativity, communication, number and behaviour.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Support my child to create a rocket or astronaut
  • Descritbe something I have helped my child to develop or learn
  • Support my child's liberacy, communication, creativity, number and behaviour
  • Support my child in develop confidence in their own skills
  • Develop confidence in my own skills

How will I be taught?

  • You will take part in a range of different activities with your tutor and the other studnets in your class. Activities may include tutor presentation, small group work, working in pairs, class discussion, practical activities, shorts tasks and research.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided but it would be useful if you could bring an empty cereal box or shoe box and you may want to bring a notepad and pen.
