Learn how to decorate your own cupcakes for Easter with spring flowers, lace and Easter bunnies. Make your own sugarcraft decorations to enhance a celebration cake for that professional finish. Theses include the use of lettering and ornaments . Learn lots of techniques in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Course aim

To teach learners how to produce decorations for buns or cupcakes including cake lace, spring flowers and foliage. Cake top decorations including seasonal items e.g Easter bunny. Use of colour and how to mix and dust various shades.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Make a selection of sugar flowers
  • Decorate small buns and cakes
  • Use paste and powder colour
  • Make cake top decorations

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • Verbal and written feedback given during a project and when the craft item is completed

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • Tutor will discuss what items may be needed for the course during the first session

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
