The course will continue to build on the group's interests and strengths by delivering a range of art activities that support the learners to develop their skills, imagination, creativity and wellbeing. It will be structured in a way that integrates English language, wellbeing, independent and group work to ensure learners are stretched and supported. Each learner will create up to 5 different artworks per course.

Course aim

The course aims to use art making to promote wellbeing, confidence and creativity.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Express an increased sense of wellbeing
  • Use arts and crafts skills to promote independence and creativity
  • Use up to five new techniques for making different artworks
  • Develop fine and gross motor skills
  • Present a finished artwork completed to a high standard

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress

  • Nothing else is needed
