This course is aimed at people who have an intermediate knowledge of the Italian language, but keen to develop it further. The course will focus on oral, listening and speaking, but also reading and writing, so that the student will be able to communicate effectively. Being focused on communicative skills, and active participation during the classes will be encouraged. Each term will cover a different topic designed to broaden the learner's understanding of Italian society, culture and lifestyle
Course aim
This course will enable you to develop language skills and will equip you with the confidence and appropriate knowledge to communicate in and understand intermediate Italian
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- describe and buy clothes, expressing opinions
- request opinions and advice
- understand and give physical descriptions
- describe one's personality
- Understand simple passages and written material in Italian
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
- You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
