Angles, Saxons & Vikings

Ref: C3673273

A look at life “up North” between the Romans and the Normans, a period when the north had a very distinctive history and culture. We will discuss the impact of the various invaders and look at their impact on the culture and politics of the region north of the Humber, and explore whether the 'Dark Ages' were as gloomy as the name suggests. We will consider the legacy of the period and its possible impact on how the North is seen today.
