Gentle Yoga

We will do some gentle warm-up exercises and some asanas, yoga postures, to stretch the body. We will practice different breathing techniques which will help to focus the mind. The class will begin and end with a guided relaxation to help to bring some calmness within.

Course aim

This is a gentle morning yoga session to help you to stretch your body, focus your mind and help you to relax.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • I can make the sound Om and I understand what it means.
  • I can balance in Vrksasana (tree pose).
  • I can do a full yogic breath.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • The tutor will assess you throughout the class observing your yoga practice and offer modifications, advice or support as needed.

What else do I need to know?

  • Please bring a yoga mat with you. If you have a yoga block this would be beneficial, and if you have a blanket you can use please bring one with you.
