Taster - Pevsner buildings of England - Purton and Local Area

Ref: C3530383

Learn about how the Pevsner guide for Wiltshire (1975) came into being and consider the authors perception of the built environment by using the original text from the Pevsner guide and images of the buildings with reference to Purton and the local area. This will include not only Purton but also buildings identified in Ashton Keynes, Lydiard Millicent Lydiard Tregoze, The Leigh, Minety and Oaksey. Students will have the opportunities to comment on selection and descriptions by the author as well as identify changes that have happened since publication and any omissions or corrections that they feel should be included.
