St Budeaux parish lies opposite to the borough of Saltash, linked originally by ferries and now by railway and road bridges. The Tamar Bridge will provide a starting point for this guided historical walk, during which we will visit the nearby church of St Budeaux, which sits on top of a hill with post war housing developments and the remains of an Elizabethan mansion nearby. During this walk we will try to make sense of this multi-period landscape, which was totally transformed by the building of the Tamar Bridge. (Meeting Place Tamar Bridge Office).

Course aim

To discover and explore the hinterland of the Tamar Bridge in the Devon parish of St Budeaux using the building and site descriptions of Nikolaus Pevsner.
