This taster session will provide an introduction to the many ways you can use the internet in your everyday life. From finding information, renewing a library book, booking Dr appointments, buying goods, online banking, we will explore the many uses for the internet.
Course aim
Would you like to explore how you can use the internet for everyday tasks? Shop from home, access information, the internet has many uses and can make everyday tasks quicker and easier.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is only available for Devon carers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify at least 5 uses for internet
- Use the internet to find out some specific information
- Be able to use the internet to complete an everyday task (book an appointment, shop online, etc)
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
What else do I need to know?
- This is a 'bring your own device course'. Therefore please being a laptop, table or smart phone with internet access.
Pre-course work, reading and information sources
- No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
