Taster - Winter Solstice - Poetry appreciation

Ref: C3530213

This is an introduction to poetry appreciation. There will be a feast of poems about the Winter season which we can read together and then share our views. We will start with guided questions in small groups and progress to whole class sharing about the meaning and style of the poems. We can celebrate this Winter by reading some fabulous seasonal poems and take home lots of new ideas for further reading and appreciation.

Course aim

This is a chance to read and enjoy some Winter poems together. With group work and class discussion we will learn some easy ways of appreciating poetry. By sharing our views, we can enhance our understanding and enjoyment of the chosen poems.
