Come to this dynamic, fun workshop which will introduce you to some different approaches to drawing in a supportive environment. The emphasis will be on the journey rather than the finished product. By experimenting with a range of simple techniques and a variety of materials you will discover the importance of play in stimulating the imagination, and making mistakes as part of the creative process.

Course aim

This taster session will provide an introduction to some of the methods and ideas which help develop creativity, skills and confidence in your artistic potential, and your enjoyment of the creative process.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Experiment with a variety of materials
  • Approach drawing/painting in new ways
  • Develop confidence in your artistic potential
  • Understand the importance of play in the creative process

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided
