LBG Crafting for the Christmas Season

We will be making a different item each week themed around Christmas, starting with an advent calendar at the first session. The crafts are designed to be accessible by beginners and no crafting experience is necessary.

Course aim

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the pleasure of crafting for Christmas

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Make origami boxes and use these to create an advent calendar
  • Decorate a goblet using glass painting techniques
  • Learn to stamp an image and create 3d Christmas cards
  • Make festive decorations for the home

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • I use very basic equipment s if you have your own favourite pair of scissors, long ruler, pencil and rubber then please d bring them along

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
