Preparation for Driving Theory and Employment

Students will be taught alertness on the road, attitude and driving on the motorway. We will also look into safety of the vehicle and passengers. The course is 10 weeks long and sufficient enough for a person of good English to comprehend and pass their theory test. We will also look at driving jobs and jobs to suit individual needs. We will also look at how to make a CV and apply for jobs.

Course aim

The main purpose is to teach the principles to driving on the road and employability. Once they have passed their theory test they can apply for their practical test and look for jobs in and around different areas.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • I will be able to read and follow question on Alertness.
  • I will be able to read and answer questions on Motorway safety.
  • I will be able to read and answer questions on Attitude.
  • Make my CV
  • Apply for jobs.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
  • You will be expected to carry out a range of activities in your own time

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • Read on topics beforehand as tutor requires

What can I do next?

  • Apply for theory test and apply for jobs.
